PROF. DR. IOAN MANZATU

An outstanding personality of the Romanian scietific life, Prof. Dr. Ioan Manzatu has an experience of more than forty years in the field of nuclear physics and lately, of biotechnological research.

Early in his career, he distinguished himself in positions of lecturer, associate professor and professor.

Simultaneously, he held various important positions such as Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Atomic Physics, Special Assistant to the President of the State Committee for Nuclear Energy, Scientific Advisor for Disarmament to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director General of the National Council for Science and Technology, Scientific Consultant for two United Nation Organizations: UNESCO and UNEP, Member of the Scientific Board of the National Institute for Biotechnologies of Romania and a six-months tenure as Vice-President of Romania (1990).

He is currently the President of BIOTEHNOS S.A., a company whose object of activity is basic and applied research with a view to producing pharmaceuticals and cosmetics based, exclusively, on natural ingredients.

Professor Manzatu has written over 120 theoretical and experimental works in atomic and nuclear physics, electronics, isotope applications, biophysics and biotechnology, holding over 80 patents for discoveries in these fields.

His first invention, the structured water, is also an absolute worldwide finding, the patent being granted in the USA and EU.

Professor Manzatu is a member of the European Physical Society and has won the Romanian Academy's Awards for Physics.

He is included in "Who's Who in the World" (since 1981), "Men of Achievement" (since 1983) and was International Man of the Year (1991/1992) - Cambridge, Great Britain.
